TTL Earth

Lunette

Lunette is an idyllic mad max style hamlet in the coastal mountains overlooking a cyberpunk city with harsh holographic signage; amid ruin filled forests, a salt-water lake connected to the ocean at high tide; and rolling mountainsides and rivers. The noodle burger fast food at the end of the town overlooks a cyberpunk skyline off in the distance.

Mostly tiny homes; at first shanties built over an abandoned freight station and highway; plus cargo container tiny homes; now prefabs; plus homes patched with the same cheap plastic and metal sheeting. Actual houses are those abandoned in the 90s housing all multigenerational squatters.

Traincars have been converted into infrastructure like libraries; bathhouses; and even a bar; the trading company train station is now a school for classes of kids of all ages taught by local experts; while the clinic is a train-depot warehouse with an auto-doctor run by a coledge dropout.

Large megacorp farms surround the town of 300 people;  w/many gays; sustained by nomads who come for the harvests. Many shops are located along the highway ‘mainstreet; along with Fvđ’s hello-hello food mart and charging station; closest to a town’s grocers.

The locals supplement income with internet businesses enabled by drone shipping. Fishing is also an income source; highest paid too. Rusted mills, rural houses; along the highway; along with a broken down warehouse kids use for raves and underground fighting.

Ruined industrial machines in Beck’s junkyard; and a small rose bud shaped alien temple is located beneath the newer constructions on the hill; with some trees in a stone circle to the side; central dias being a teleporter; walls and foundations; broken pillars/arches in the woods.

Most homes have solar panels and broadband antennas for power and internet; and the town is powered by a makeshift solar farm; the reservoir or cesspit are 15 years past their maintenance lifetime yet aren’t updated because they’re vital.

Huge water towers are common throughout the town; along with mini-solar collector towers. Sanitation is better than TTL norm; but still IRL subpar; food is still processed foodstuff but used in home cooking.

The climate is warm-mediterranean; dry summers with strong heatwaves; a week of snow during the rainy winter; sometimes white christmases; foggy and rainy; lots of strong wind from the Fraser valley across the sea.

Climate dominated by barrier mountains in the south and the bannon sea fed with arctic water by the ceres gyer. Local vegetation is fern and palms, deciduous trees; few pines; abundant colorful exotic flowers, many tall grasses, and abundant moss. Vbt and Nanu are security guards acting as town police.

Retail

Pizza Overlord, Fryer King, Fro-Yo Mama, Cup O’ Joe, along with the Noodle Burger diner overlooking the giant cyberpunk city in the distance; Fvđ’s Hello Hello food mart and charging station is the closest to a grocery store; and many people have their goods shipped here since there's no personal addresses anymore.

The Laiott Trading Company has been converted into a school; where local experts come to teach kids mixed into classes of all ages; parents are also often teachers.

Some of these businesses have been in Lunette since it was a trading post for a logging company; many others were built in the 60s when the projects went in. An old warehouse is the hospital; with only a few beds; and a single autodoctor unit aided by a self-taught doctor.

One of the train cars serves as a lockerroom to a public bath; filled with hot water; another acts as a library of books that rotate through town; others have become homes to locals; often inspired by tiny homes.

The bar; a gay bar; is a train car; with a deck for dining and dancing; they serve minors food and lets them dance; but no alcohol until 21.

Humanity

Humans are the dominant species on techniverse earth; cartoon visages; t/re generally more advanced than IRL but totally idiotic. T/ir biology is more lenient than IRL, a/physics simpler. Humans are creations of a genius original humanity.

Humans

Technically advanced; rapid progress since the 19th century; oceanic electric paddleboats as early a/t 1850s; aerial dogfights ‘87; deviced f/radio. The Techniverse

Humans come from a dimension called the techniverse; which encompasses Earth/Urth; where the Op̄tr advanced pre-human hominids into ‘atlantis’; giant 16’ humanoid Jsu who preceded human civ by about 8.5k years as bullies; enslaving and experimenting on the refined humanity.

The Techniverse bears a cartoon visage; biology is more lenient; a/physics simpler; it’s a large but finite expanding cosmos where a small percentage of mass belongs to stars a/ planets; Earth is located in the milky way, a/ tho n/ all the stars are the same, constellations are. Time’s compressed; hu/s seem slower.

Earth w/in this reality is vastly different from the real Earth; different climates, continents, a/historical events; yet humans remain the dominant species; a/all real world cultures a/ nations exist; under different circumstances a/acting in surprising ways; t/ir history parallels ours. Culture began in the fertile crescent of hyperborea; Thule to germans.

14k years ago, Op̄tr spliced t/ir language into hominids; but wiped out the giant hu/Jsu in BD.7,568; the last interbred w/ hu/s as royalty, giving them culture a/civilization. >6.25K years ago Op̄tr again colonized the planet a/ taught man math a/ astronomy, commissioning cities near caves a/ sinkholes; a history taught in every skool; but mostly ignored. Human cultures are divided on nearly every issue you can be divided on; however; murder, rape, a/outside communist countires; theft, arson, incest, a/pedophilia; are generally; but n/a frowned upon.

Lip service to swinger culture a/taboo; but pass over gay rights. Schizoids c/t tell t/difference b/t quirky and antisocial; rule abandoned social media. Humans are purely dominance hierarchical.

Lip service to ancient religions or pseudo-sciences but generally humans worship celebrities no matter how bizarre or sinister t/ir behavior. Some cultures worship 'cash'; valueless tokens based solely on credit of t/ir leaders, leading to disaster when refined to e-cash based on worthless floating points.

Human civilization was born around the fertile crescent region of hyperborea; sumerians; then spread to eurasia by trade; hesperia by colonization; the Americas were an independent development but later colonized. Humans speak many languages; a gift from t/ir Op̄tr creators; inventing mythology to explain the variety. Swears are t/ir curses. Op̄tr can learn any of these from TV in 2 weeks.

Humans were given writing/math/astronomy by the Op̄tr; communication relies heavily on simple pictograms; emojis a/memes. Language has become more casual over time.

Grammar's inconsistent; humans offset t/ir limited vocabularies w/ compound verb/nouns; often dumb ones. Science vocabulary is especially limited; relying on dumb metaphors. Vocabulary has expanded over time; modern humans are the most literate ever. Decimal base 12/60.

Technology

Human technology is electronic; most advanced devicments are hardly functional. Holograms have taken over for transparent LCD flatscreens; a/ environmental holos hide dilapidated buildings a/replace public works. Humans are addicted to these flashy technologies; a/ t/ir puzzle/casino gotcha games.

VR technology is fairly advanced; coils provide entanglement AR in place of older cells; a/can provide STL when wrapped around the head. Humans however stigmatize gamers as potential terrorists/rapists out of irrational fear.

Social media is important in everyday life f/ antisocials; but takes the form of AR a/ second life where people work, fight/sports w/avatars; a life you control. Females choose mates using it.

Holocinemia+TV. Genomics advanced enough to trial a/error Op̄tr genes; cure world hunger, deviced nanotech; created artificial brains a/led to stacked quantum pattern boards. Computing vastly exceeds hu/mental capacity; but AIs use it to be lazier than hu/.

Humans divorced science a/ magic just before the dawn of the 20th century; but limited magi-tech; imitating the Jsu; is hidden in plain sight; like astrology linked magic circle particle accelerators. Spellbooks take the form of modern laptops. Human math is often wrong; ‘dark’ numbers save t/ir theories.

Physics generally only requires algebra in TTL; Optr first taught humans non-linear algebra; a topic still mostly taught at coledge or AP skool; advanced calculus is higher level than even most TTL genui deal w/.

Op̄tr; TTL geniuses can generally complete human Skool by 10; Coledge by 13; even Medical Skool by 14. That humans do well enough is a testimony to how easily understood TTL history, physics, a/biology are to master.

More aware a/intelligent humans believe t/ir species is evolving into a less emotionally a intellectually sophisticated but more technically advanced form; others point out vocabulary a/literacy haven't been higher before as a corollary.

Evas

Evangelions are giant 16/26' tall cyborg mecha; piloted from protruding back hump cockpit inside the chest. T/re controlled by neuro-sync. T/are clones of the Adams; the Op̄tr’s prototype humans; preserved members of the Jsu race. T/ve powerful munitions a/melee-energy weapons; w/ coulomb barriers.

Equipped w/superconducting systems; powerful batteries; Heiman floatsys; Some fold into cars; but are more agile w/feet; Evas replaced tank a/fighter warfare.

Evas resemble superman-kaiju heros; developed secretly in the 80s; deployed in ‘08. Many are piloted by bastardized cloned Op̄tr homunculi; using controls resembling a motorcycle; or a backwards swept chair; w/holo for the pilots. Some have 4 arms; o/r wet light based.

Evas can be modded w/ Op̄tr tech; w/ RLF microreactors; Virtual particle loop light/wings i/s of floats; + optic blasts; coulomb barrier+antibarriers; a/enhanced neuro-sync w/ Op̄tr pilots.

Some are totally robotic; used in industry as workers i/p of forklifts/cranes. Evas can be standard cargo; Arkbirds; 4 590' tall eva aircraft w/ railguns/Op̄tr-type beams/coulomb +floats b/n Op̄tr RLF reactors.

Character Building Drabble - Teddy

That he didn’t have humanity; didn’t mean he didn’t feel; he still had likes, humors, he was friendly and didn’t like assholes; thought racist jokes were funny; sex was amazing; though he could be unempathetic; making dark jokes, he still had closeness with people.

When he was given a stupid little teddy bear; an old doctor bear covered in patches over its white coat, and body; after one of his ‘operations’; the euphemism for a tortuous medical experiments they subjected him too; he clung to it as any child. He could see the single kindness he’d been given.

They made sure to wipe Flad I’s memory when they made Flad II; after that the experiments stopped; he was given an education; graduated at 10; and had a PHD by 14; when he was 18 they were done with him; and he took his teddy, games, mangas, and music player, and mattress, and his few clothes, and his sword in a 20 year old van he bought himself and traveled across the border to America.

The Lunette fillup station/grocery was the only place that didn’t consider his ID fake; with his platinum skin and hair; he didn’t know at the time that this was because someone lived there who was just like him.

He drove over; a couple of borders; saw some cool stuff along the bannon sea states; he wouldn’t tell anyone; but he was scared; he’d never been alone before; or outside the watchful eye of Nebula. He clung to his teddy like when he was a kid; living in his van; and sometimes cried himself to sleep listening to music.

He didn’t sleep with teddy anymore like Aob with his plushies; keeping teddy in a drawer in his apartment and now in his backpack; so the cat couldn’t get him; brought out only when he was scared.

Worn down, fading, ripped; he was elated when Aob offered to fix teddy; feeling more warmth for the strange boy watching him hand sew teddy back together; more than even for the friends he’d made in lunette. He was all stupid toothy grins and longing to be with Aob.

Worldbuilding Drabble - Subtlety

An IQ of 139; like humans; his mind consisted of evanescent photons inside microtubles; processing 100 gigabits a time through a quantum network; with 40-120 bits of conscious memory and 4-12 bits of ram; this was typical of humans; he had a total capacity of about 1 terabyte; enough; under massive compression; to last 150 years.

He's impassible; beyond pain, agile to move as he liked. And subtility; body subordinated to Jung's shadow; the soul; viceless.

Suave, he enjoyed physical intimacy instead of emotional talks; he'd talked with Aob about their pasts; but had issues with women who wanted to cry everything out. Aob was a crybaby but only needed a hug; sex, hikes, and games were enough bonding.

Vent simply added a third voice to the same dynamic. Hiking, dungeon crawling - delving as humans called it; sleeping together; sex or just cuddling. Vent was as naive as he was athletic; he was so easy to con; Aob was poorly socialized; autistic and non-linear.

A slap on the ass, hug, kiss, public grope, was all Aob needed to feel loved.

Aob’s IQ was einsteinian; at 145; almost omniscient about any pop, philosophy, mythology, and science references you could make; if you could keep up with the topic shifts; easy for Flad and Vent; the best conversationalist. All grads at 10; Vent’s IQ was 135; and was a military captain by 14, like Flad's PhD.

The Op̄tr

The Op̄tr (Ofter) are a race of semi-divine extraterrestrial beings who maintained several outposts on Earth; then suddenly fled, leaving it all to ruin. Tasting eternal life, literally gods from a primitives’ perspective. Of light; the first humans blessed w/life.
